“Honky Tonk Hoedown” and World’s Largest (???) Square Dance!? with the Faux Paws, Bob Wagner & Friends.

THE WORLD’S LARGEST (???) SQUARE DANCE – at the Champlain Valley Fair with Mary Wesley, The Faux Paws & Friends

As part of a “Honky Tonk Hoedown” concert at the Champlain Valley Fair, Vermont’s own Mary Wesley will be calling a square dance for the masses in an attempt to break the standing Guinness Book’s record for the world’s largest square dance. Currently the record stands at just over 1,600 people. The Champlain Valley Fairgrounds dance floor can hold twice that, and we intend to fill it!! (Note: the Guinness record-making-machinery wasn’t around in 1950 when over 15k people filled the streets with squares in Santa Monica, CA!!)

Will a new record be set in Vermont? Maybe!!?!!??! Will it be loads of fun? FOR SURE! Especially if we fill the crowd with some ringers from our amazing dance community.

With Mary’s calls and music from The Faux Paws and friends (Andrew VanNorstrand and Noah VanNorstrand + Kelsey Wells) what’s not to love? The square dance “moment” shares the bill with Burlington’s Bob Wagner & Friends and will take place about an hour into the show. Come early and bring your friends! For the grand finale Andrew, Noah, and Kelsey will join forces with Bob & Friends for a “Honky Tonk Super Jam!” Flash mob square dancing encouraged!

To boot, the event will also be a benefit for NOFA-VT (Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont). Come kick your heels up and support our farmers!
