DESCRIPTION:Come dance with us in the beautiful Hallowell City Hall Ballroom on the fourth Saturday of the month. Contra Dancing has been a Maine tradition for over 300 years\, and it’s still fun and popular. We dance to awesome live music from some of the finest traditional musicians in Maine (and from away). All dances are taught and called\, and the basic step is just walking to the beat\, so it’s real easy to learn as you go. There is a brief newcomer’s orientation at the beginning of the dance if you get there at 7 pm. All ages and levels of experience are welcome. If it isn’t fun\, we’re not doing it right.
